The Physics of Magic Road Show!

Friday, April 1, at 7 pm

WSU's Lind Lecture Hall, Room 125/126

This presentation is free to the public and appropriate for audiences of all ages.

Magic tricks and physics demonstrations have a lot in common.  Both can produce unexpected results, and both depend on the laws of physics.  Dr. Wall will present a number of entertaining physics demonstrations through magic tricks, and will use some obvious and some not-so-obvious performance magic to explain physical principles.  Although no great secrets of magic will be revealed, the optical principles behind an entire class of magical effects will be demonstrated.

This presentation is part of the
     WSU Physics Department’s
  celebration of the
    World Year of Physics 2005
.
