Society of Physics Students

The Physics Department maintains an active chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS), sponsored by the American Institute of Physics. SPS is an excellent opportunity for students to get together to discuss their interests in physics and astronomy, and to form close friendships. Recent activities of our local chapter have included:

Weber State's chapter of SPS has recently received an award!  The Blake Lilly Prize was awarded to the chapter in 1999.  This award honors "chapters who have engaged grades K-12 or the general public in activities that promote physics education and physics appreciation."  The award includes a certificate and a three-volume set of the "Feynman Lectures on Physics."
