What do astronomers see
when they look deep into space
at the most ancient objects?

This is the Hubble telescope's Deep Field photo
of a random area of "empty sky."
It shows some of the farthest galaxies known.

We are looking so far back in time
that some of these galaxies formed only a billion years after the Big Bang!
