General Physics Laboratory

Offered: This two‑semester sequence may be started in the Fall or Spring. 

 Prerequisites for this Course: Physics 2210/2220 is a corequisite. It is strongly recommended that students take this course at the same time as 2010/2020

 This course is a prerequisite for: None

 Credit Hours: One (per semester).  One three‑hour laboratory session per week

 Text: Students should purchase a laboratory manual from the bookstore

 Topics Covered: Topics parallel 2210/2220.

 Skills Emphasized: Using laboratory equipment to make measurements.  Using a computer for taking data.  Using spreadsheets to analyze and graph data.  Analysis of graphs.  Communicating results of experiments in writing.  Working as a member of a group.

 Notes: This sequence is primarily intended for students in science (including math), computer science and pre‑engineering programs.
